Anyone who believes Guild Wars will die anytime soon really isn't playing the same Guild Wars as the rest of the world...

Guild Wars has the potential to be up there with Warcraft 3 and StarCraft... It is NOT an MMORPG, its an online competitive Action Adventure game and as such won't fall to the same problems that MMO's all to... but yeah, if Ultima online can do it, guild Wars will do it before it even wakes up and has its morning coffee

Moderator please close this thread its turned into a troll fest. The last 13 posts have nothing to do with the OPs initial topic.

In response to the OPs statements - NF passes 2 yrs after Prophecies/Factions however 'somehow' we have Paragons and Dervishes invading Tyria and Canthan two years before they are suppsoed to be there. Talk about time travelling.

The time lines are progressing however A net needs to make sure that interactions between all chapters is possible - there's no way Id take my Warrior or Monk or Elementalist or Mesmer or Ranger back all the way from the beginning to recapture all the skills that are 10 or 20 years down the road. It would ensure that I do not buy the GW2 if I had to recapture all those skills and relevel my players. (however I play the game through from start to finish with each character so I'll admit it takes me quite some time - this stops me from buying other computer games ^^)

If however GW2 uses different mechanics etc how would it remain GW? Id be interested to hear you suggestions to how combat would work.

wrong, the timeline is available on the wiki and shows where things meet up... basically, Lions Arch, Kaineng centre and kamadan are all at the SAME time period and if you do anything before those areas (say take a dervish and do Minister Cho's Estate or Great Northern Wall, you get a message come up saying "you are reliving events which took place before you reached the continent" or similar...

ANet, if you remember, originally didn't allow foreighners to do the preceding missions because of the time line issue, but changed that after getting a shit storm rom players that wanted the protector and cartographer titles

and for information the timeline of tyria can be found here

.
As I was saying...it's the problem with the title...

"When GW dies...", an obvious flamebait...
